This is a roast (formely Brazil Jazz Blue) built on precision and craft, honoring the Chippewa, explorers like Jean Nollet, and all who have braved the waters of Lake Michigan by canoe, sailboat, schooner, steamship, passenger ferry, and freighter. Mariner’s Blend features a washed-process Central American peaberry which is an uncommon coffee bean that develops as a single, rounded seed rather than the typical pair. Only about 10% of coffee beans form this way, resulting in a denser bean with cleaner, brighter flavor characteristics.
Through the washed process, the fruit is fully removed before fermentation and drying, allowing the inherent clarity and brightness of the coffee to shine. The result is a remarkably clean, medium-bodied cup with rich notes of dark chocolate and a smooth finish.
Roasted to our darkest profile, this blend is full of character, with balanced acidity and a bold, refined taste. Whether brewed as espresso or a strong morning cup, Mariner’s Blend stands out for its quality, clarity, and consistent depth.
